Movement analysis
The big shock of the week was Keller, previously ranked No. 5 in the Fort Worth-area, falling to previously winless Northwest. That game showcases how evenly matched all teams are in District 4-6A, with the exception of Southlake Carroll, a squad that is cruising to a district title.
With Keller’s stumble, and a loss from Mansfield Lake Ridge, Euless Trinity shoots up three spots to No. 5 in the area. The Trojans are undefeated in district and are close to winning a district title.
With a strong win over Timber Creek, Haslet Eaton shuffles up two spots as it aims to capture a playoff spot in District 4-6A.
Byron Nelson has had an up and down season but has a great opportunity to finish the season strong. The Bobcats fell to Southlake Carroll, but with Weatherford’s loss to Aledo, they re-enter the rankings at No. 10.
There was little moment in the Class 5A rankings, except for Burleson Centennial entering the list at No. 10. The Spartans have an extraordinarily tough schedule but have still shown they are a respectable program. Despite the loss to Lancaster, they enter the area rankings at No. 10, replacing Paschal, a squad that lost 56-13 to White Settlement Brewer.
In the private school realm, Grapevine Faith overtook Fort Worth Christian with a head-to-head win over the Cardinals.
