Lace up your sneakers and take steps toward a world without Alzheimer’s!
The 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s is right around the corner, bringing the Central Texas community together to fund research, raise awareness, and support families affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
Raegan Scott from the Alzheimer’s Association Capital of Texas joined Sierra Waggoner and Trevor Scott to share how the organization is making a difference and what participants can expect at this year’s walk.

Walking toward a world without Alzheimer’s
The Alzheimer’s Association is dedicated to advancing research, providing care and support, and advocating for policies that benefit those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia.

“It takes a village to create this, to find our sponsors, to advocate for the walk, to raise funds for the walk,” Scott shared.
“When you get an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, it’s actually a diagnosis in the family because it affects the entire family,” Scott explained.
The organization supports more than 1,200 research projects across 59 countries while providing education, resources, and assistance to families navigating the disease.
A new experience at Circuit of the Americas
This year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s takes place Saturday, November 7, at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), with a new interactive experience for participants.
“We now have a health pavilion promoting the ten healthy habits for the brain,” Scott shared. “It’s really an interactive experience for the entire family.”

The Alzheimer’s Association is seeking volunteers to help with event setup and breakdown on Friday and Saturday. Opportunities are also available to join the walk committee and support the organization’s ongoing work.
In addition to walking, attendees can learn about Alzheimer’s, explore available resources, and find information about clinical trials.
The event is also an important fundraiser, with the organization working toward its fundraising goal.
“We are only $100,000 away from our goal, so we are close,” Scott said.

How your support makes a difference
Funds raised help support scientific research, education for healthcare providers, advocacy, and care programs for families.
Scott also highlighted advancements in Alzheimer’s detection and the importance of making new developments accessible to patients.
“We fund the research, we fund that advocacy at the public policy level, and we help support the physicians and the families,” she explained.

There’s still time to get involved
Community members can still register to walk, donate, or volunteer.
