HORIZON CITY, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso County officials will meet with Horizon City residents on Thursday to provide updates and resources after flooding damaged property and forced evacuations in the area.
The community meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m. at the El Paso County Command Post at 15921 Horizon Blvd.
County officials said they will share updates on ongoing cleanup efforts and available resources for residents affected by the flood.
As cleanup continues, the El Paso County Public Works Department will place multiple roll-off dumpsters along neighborhood streets to help residents dispose of debris and other items.
The update comes after El Paso County officials issued a disaster declaration on Tuesday in response to the flooding.
The county experienced significant rainfall on Oct. 23 and Oct. 25, which officials said resulted in severe flooding, property damage, and the evacuation of numerous residents from their homes.
With more rain expected this week, officials said concerns remain about continued flooding, land erosion, and further property damage.
