  • November 13, 2025

SAN ANTONIO – A man killed in a road rage shooting on the North Side on Monday has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Celerino Gonzales Jr., 58, died from gunshot wounds to the chest, according to the ME’s office. His death was ruled a homicide.

Background on the shooting

Officers responded to the 11200 block of Belair Drive around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, for reports of a shooting.

Gonzales was later found dead in his vehicle after exchanging gunfire with another man, police said.

On Wednesday, a suspect, David Flores Oyervides III, 23, was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center on a $250,000 bond for a murder charge, records show.

According to an SAPD preliminary report, the Gonzales had followed Oyervides back to his residence as the two men exchanged gunfire.

At some point, the department said that Oyervides returned to his home to get another gun.

The victim drove a short distance away as Oyervides continued to shoot, the report said. In a Monday news conference, police stated that the 58-year-old returned gunfire.

During the exchange, SAPD said Gonzales was shot and killed.
