Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker has voted in the 2026 midterm elections — but her choice on Texas’ high-profile senate race will remain unknown.
A spokesperson for Parker, who is a Republican, said Wednesday, Oct. 28, that neither Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton nor Democratic state Rep. James Talarico of Round Rock will get her endorsement.
Parker has endorsed two Democrats in statewide races, including State Rep. John Rosenthal of Houston, the Democratic candidate vying for a seat on the Texas Railroad Commission. She also endorsed Democratic state Sen. Nathan Johnson of Dallas over Republican state Sen. Mayes Middleton of Galveston in the race for Texas attorney general.
Parker endorsed U.S. Senator John Cornyn in the primary election. She told the Dallas Morning News and KXAS Channel 5 in a joint interview recently that she believed he was a “statesman” and did not see a replacement for him in Talarico or Paxton.
The mayor met with Paxton and Talarico in the run-up to the election, she told reporters in that joint interview.
Parker did not make an endorsement in the 2024 Senate election, according to Ballotpedia.
