Both victims were seriously injured, police said. One was in critical condition, but police indicated the victim survived the attack.
The man fled in a pickup truck at high speed and hit an unoccupied Tesla Cybercab, police said. Officers later took him into custody. Police said he will likely face aggravated assault charges.
People at the coffee shop told police the man had caused a disturbance there before Wednesday night, but APD could not provide details about prior incidents.
Police said detectives are working to determine whether the man had any relationship with the victims.
