The TAG Center Permian Basin has made an arrest following a shooting that allegedly occurred in Lubbock.

According to a press release by the Midland County Sheriff’s Office, Jeffrey Dwon Porter Sr., 38, was being investigated by the Lubbock Police Department and the TAG Center Lubbock, where he was identified as a suspect in the shooting which took place on Nov. 11. Porter, according to county officials, was last seen south of Lubbock of U.S. Highway 87. 

County officials reported that TAG Permian Basin members immediately intercepted Porter north of Midland with the assistance of Texas Department of Public Safety aircraft. 

“A traffic stop was initiated, and Porter was taken into custody without incident and charged with the unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon,” said the MCSO. 

TAG Center Permian Basin is made up of personnel assigned from the Midland County Sheriff’s Office, the Ector County Sheriff’s Office, the Midland Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Midland County District Attorney’s Office, the FBI, HSI and the DEA/HIDTA.

Currently, Porter is being detained at the Midland County Detention Center, his bail is listed at $200,000.
