San Antonio Zoo is recognizing the brave military members who serve our country with free admission through November.
Zoo officials announced the return of Zoo Salutes, where active-duty, retired and veteran members of the U.S. military, including the National Guard and Reserves, receive free admission to the zoo as a thank-you for their service. Up to four immediate family members of eligible military personnel can also receive 50% off admission tickets on the date of their visit.
“This is Military City USA, and we are incredibly grateful for the dedication and sacrifices of our military service members and their families,” Tim Morrow, President & CEO of San Antonio Zoo said in a statement. “Through Zoo Salutes, we’re proud to welcome those who have served, no matter where they call home, and give them an opportunity to spend quality time with their loved ones while enjoying everything the zoo has to offer.”
Military personnel must purchase Zoo Salutes tickets online, then present a valid military ID at the zoo’s entrance. The discounted admission tickets for their family members must be used on the same day. Zoo officials said the offer cannot be combined with other offers or discounts.
Guests who visit during the second half of November can also experience Zoo Lights to explore the zoo surrounded by colorful holiday lights, glowing tunnels, festive music and seasonal displays. Zoo Lights begins Nov. 14 and is included with regular zoo admission. It’s free for San Antonio Zoo members.
