Welcome to Hallo-weekend in Dallas, when all the grown-up ghouls and goblins have … pretty much already been partying for weeks. Sure, we’ve hit plenty of block parties and local events, but after the kids go trick-or-treating on Saturday, there’s still more fun to be had. And don’t forget Día de los Muertos.

Read on for a brekkie fit for a (departed) king, plus a unique way to observe the Day of the Dead across many delicious destinations.

The world lost a legend this week with the death of Sir Patrick Stewart. In honor of the award-winning Yorkshire-born actor who portrayed Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Professor Charles Xavier, and King Claudius, we’re serving up a Full English Breakfast. You’ll definitely want to bring a friend — perhaps your own Number One — to help tuck into this traditional plate laden with meat, more meat, eggs and baked beans. Also, for the uninitiated, “black pudding” is another name for the U.K. fave, blood sausage. Don’t forget to raise a pint to the King before you tuck in.

Do this: Ruta de Altares 2026

Friday, Oct. 30 – Sunday, Nov. 1
Free; multiple locations throughout Oak Cliff. Click here to download the guide.

This annual self-guided tour will take you across Oak Cliff to view stunning ofrendas handmade for Dia de los Muertos. Each of dozens of dancing ghost animals, marigold-covered altars, and streamer-topped lanes is dedicated to the memory of loved ones lost. The online guide includes a route map and searchable directory of all participating restaurants and retailers, plus info on Sunday’s big block party at CocoAndré, which recently reopened near Jefferson Boulevard. Don’t forget your camera and an offering to leave behind.
