The Arizona Cardinals have six winning records since 2008, are generally considered one of the worst pro sports franchises in North America, and in that time they have owned the Dallas Cowboys.

It doesn’t matter the players, the quarterbacks, or the coaches, when it comes to Dallas Cowboys versus Arizona Cardinals, there is zero suspense to the outcome. Only to the final score.

The Cardinals have won eight of their last nine games against the Cowboys; that voodoo hex the Cardinals have on the Cowboys is the only reason to think that their game on Sunday afternoon at AT&T Stadium will be interesting.

The Cardinals start career backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett, and with a 2-5 record are in the HOV lane towards their fifth straight losing season.

The Cowboys are coming off a blowout win at Philadelphia, and are in a stretch of games against bad teams that they must exploit to have a chance to win the NFC East.

The Cowboys are 7-point favorites on Sunday, which would feel slightly safe if the opponent was not the Arizona Cardinals. Trusting the Cowboys to cover a 7-point margin is a big ask.

Week 8: Arizona Cardinals at Dallas Cowboys (-7). Over/under: 54.5

MAC ENGEL: The return of rookie running back Jeremiyah Love from a two-game absence because of an ankle injury will make a difference for Arizona against what is still the worst run defense in the NFL. The Cowboys defense is outstanding at allowing 15-play, 84-yard drives that take more than 8:30 off the clock.

The Cardinals will score, but quarterback Jacoby Brissett will cough it up once or twice.

The Cowboys will also score, win, and the over feels safe, but the Cardinals will cover.

Record against the spread: 3-4; over/under: 5-2

NICK HARRIS: This has trap game written all over it. I think the Cowboys win, but don’t cover in a close, sloppy game. Considering both of these teams don’t have great scoring defenses, give me the over.

Record against the spread: 5-2; over/under: 4-3
