The teenager suspected of stabbing a man to death following an argument in South Station in August has been arrested in Texas, officials confirmed Saturday.

Boston police said previously that they were searching for Marico Levy, 18, of Aubrey, Texas. The circumstances of his arrest were not immediately clear.

A spokesperson for the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office confirmed the arrest Saturday morning.

Levy was wanted in the Aug. 12 killing of Latavious Owens, 29, whose family said he was killed in a fight over a $25 cell phone bill. Owens had traveled to Boston from Memphis.

Police haven’t detailed any prior relationship between the victim and the suspect, but officials were quick to say the homicide was not a random attack.

Owens’ family told the Globe that he knew his assailant. The gruesome attack unfolded during the evening rush hour on an escalator leading from the Red Line tracks to the station lobby.

Authorities have not disclosed a potential motive in the case, but a police report says the attack was recorded on surveillance footage.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

The video shows Levy come up behind Owens and stab him in the neck, according to police. He then exited South Station and ran away, disappearing into a swirl of daily commuters. Police said he discarded a bag while fleeing.
