A man is in custody after police say he attacked a woman jogging in Bob Woodruff Park with a hammer on Thursday evening.
Plano Police responded to the 2300 block of Shiloh Road around 5 p.m. after reports of an assault.
Investigators say the woman was struck by an unknown man while jogging. The suspect fled the scene after the attack.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Plano Fire-Rescue.
Police say the suspect has been identified and arrested. Charges are pending, and investigators with the Crimes Against Persons Unit are handling the case.
Authorities add that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
