The ceremony, at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, was a musical affair: “We selected the Houston Children’s Choir to sing a moving rendition of “Alleluia.” Then, just after our vows, a surprise performance erupted over the choir loft located in the rear of the church: “Oh Happy Day,” performed live by the Choraleers, a dynamic Houston-based gospel choir, along with a Divisi Strings trumpet and strings quartet accompanying them,” Blayne says.

The bride accessorized her ensemble with a blue garter “that was given to me by one of my mother’s childhood friends.” The lace, though, came from a 2010 Christie’s auction of items from the Spencer House, and originally belonged to Georgiana Cavendish (née Spencer), the Duchess of Devonshire. The groom wore Ralph Lauren.

The reception was filled with white flowers designed by Richard Flowers and Dillon Swain of the Events Company; the four-course meal incorporated dishes from Blayne’s family’s restaurant group and included patatas bravas, butternut squash ravioli, and prime beef filet. For dessert, in addition to their seven-tiered wedding cake, there was a buffet table’s worth of treats.

The newlyweds left soon after the wedding for a multi-part honeymoon. “The trip included gorilla trekking in Rwanda followed by two safaris in Kenya. We continued our travels to the Seychelles and concluded the trip with a food-inspired adventure through Dubai,” Blayne says.
