PLANO, Texas — A 17-year-old from Plano has been charged with aggravated kidnapping following a hammer assault of a female jogger at a local park, according to the Plano Police Department. 

Sergio Noe De Nova Duarte has been arrested in the case and is currently held at the Collin County Detention facility, the department stated in an update Friday afternoon.

Duarte is being charged with aggravated kidnapping bodily injury, a first-degree felony. Details remain limited as the investigation is ongoing, stated the department. 

Oa November 13, 2025, Plano police responded to an assault on Shiloh Road, where a female jogger was attacked with a hammer in Bob Woodruff Park. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at a local hospital by Plano Fire-Rescue. 

The Plano Police Departments CAPers Unit is investigating the incident.
