  • November 15, 2025

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – If you thought it felt more like summer lately, you weren’t wrong.

Lubbock just tied its all-time November record high after temperatures soared to 90 degrees at Lubbock Airport on Saturday. This matches the mark set back in 2006.

That milestone capped off what’s been one of the warmest Novembers on record for the Hub City. Several daily records have either fallen or tied this month.

November 4: 88 tied the record from 2017 and 2020.

November 6: 87 tied the record

November 11: 86 broke the record 82 set back in 1956

November 13: 89 broke the record 82 set in 1973

November 15: broke the record 85 set in 1956 and tied the all-time warmest record for November at 90 degrees set back in 2006.

This is a clear sign of just how stubborn the warm ridge of high pressure parked over the region has been. Good news is, that ridge is finally starting to budge.

After several record-setting days, a weak cold front slides through late Saturday which will bring temperatures down slightly on Sunday.

Highs will still land in the upper 70s and low 80s, so it won’t exactly feel cold but closer to normal.

Winds will start to shift from the west to the southeast through the day, pulling in slightly cooler and drier air.

Southwest winds return early next week, keeping things breezy and mild Monday and Tuesday. That means another couple of pleasant, above-average afternoons but without the near-record heat we’ve seen lately.

The bigger change arrives Wednesday into Thursday, when a stronger upper level disturbance swings out of the Rockies.

That system will bring cooler temperatures and a chance for showers, though rainfall looks hit-or-miss at this point. Depending on how much moisture is pulling in from the Gulf, the best odds for measurable rain appear to be east of Lubbock.

By next weekend, expect drier and more seasonable weather with highs back in the 60s and sunny skies.
