Now that Michelin has been critiquing Texas restaurants for more than a year, we expect a shakeup in Dallas-Fort Worth in 2025.
Will more Dallas restaurants receive a prized 1-star Michelin honor? Will fewer Recommended restaurants picked state-wide — suggesting a greater emphasis on Michelin stars?
Will the four 1-star barbecue joints in Texas keep their shine? Will more Tex-Mex rise up? And will restaurants in Fort Worth see some love?
Perhaps most importantly: Will we see more casual eateries added as Bib Gourmand recipients, the Michelin award for restaurants that serve food at a great value? Our bank accounts could use a break.
Restaurant News
I won’t guess which Dallas-Fort Worth restaurants will get specific Michelin awards; that’s a job for the anonymous French critics. But based on last year’s winners, a list of notable, new 2025 restaurants and knowledge of the Dallas-Fort Worth restaurant scene, here are restaurants I think could get some kind of nod at the Michelin Guide Texas ceremony on Oct. 28, 2025.
Be sure you’re signed up for our food newsletter to get a list of Michelin Texas winners in real time.

Bar Colette in Uptown Dallas
Bar Director Rubén Rolón makes inventive cocktails in a beautiful setting.
Chitose Suzuki / Staff Photographer
In 2024, a Dallas bartender received a Michelin award for Exceptional Cocktails. There’s no telling whether Michelin will offer that award again — or if it will land in Dallas — but we’d like to see Bar Colette considered for its cocktails. It’s an inspired, interesting place whose bar manager Rubén Rolón makes cocktails in the same way a chef carefully composes a dish.
Bar Colette is at 3699 McKinney Ave., Suite 306 (in West Village), Dallas.
El Carlos Elegante in Dallas Design District
A visit to El Carlos Elegante feels like an escape from Dallas.
Shafkat Anowar / Staff Photographer
Michelin promised in 2024 its inspectors would be looking at food “rooted in Texas culture,” meaning a close look at our barbecue and Mexican food. It overshot on barbecue and undershot on Mexican and Tex-Mex.
Enter El Carlos Elegante, one of the few Mexican restaurants in D-FW with Recommended status in 2024. The Recommended honor is given to restaurants that aren’t quite star status but were enjoyed by Michelin critics. El Carlos remains one of the best options in North Texas for contemporary Mexican food.
El Carlos Elegante is at 1400 N. Riverfront Blvd., Dallas.

The Chumley House in Fort Worth
Of the five Texas cities Michelin visited, Fort Worth was the only one with no Michelin-starred restaurants. And the list of other accolades was small. Snubbed could be the word, and that’s why we’ve put four more Fort Worth restaurants on this list.
The Chumley House debuted post-Michelin, serving dishes like butter chicken pie, agnolotti with whipped truffle ricotta, and beef Wellington. We’re glad it’s now part of the Fort Worth dining scene.
The Chumley House is at 3230 Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth.
Crown Block in downtown Dallas
Nearly every seat at Crown Block has a view of Dallas from on high.
Chitose Suzuki / Staff Photographer
Located in one of Dallas’ most iconic buildings, Reunion Tower, visitors might be more familiar with Crown Block than Dallas natives. But it’s worth a trip up the elevator no matter who you are: Crown Block offers a glitzy steak and sushi dinner in a beautiful dining room. It came Recommended by Michelin in 2024.
Crown Block is at 300 Reunion Blvd. E., Dallas.
Domodomo Kō in Uptown Dallas
If Michelin is looking for nimble chefs making interesting food, new restaurant Domodomo Kō in Uptown Dallas should get a look. A lot has changed at this restaurant since it opened in April 2025: Owners lowered prices, changed the tasting menu, added a la carte dishes and tacked on lunch. In its short life, diners will have found something new every time.
Domodomo Kō is at 2681 Howell St., Dallas.

Don Artemio Mexican Heritage in Fort Worth
Chiles en Nogada, a staple dish from Puebla, is available at Don Artemio in Fort Worth.
Juan Figueroa / Staff Photographer
We had Don Artemio pegged as a potential standout on Michelin’s 2024 list, but it didn’t get a single mention. It’s back on our list for 2025 because it serves contemporary Mexican food in a Fort Worth neighborhood that’s ready for greatness. It’s intended to transport Texans to Saltillo, Mexico, the home of its chef-owners.
Don Artemio is at 3268 W. 7th St., Fort Worth.

Fearing’s in Uptown Dallas
Dallas chef Dean Fearing holds a plate of Texas Wagyu Beef Carpaccio Elotes at his Ritz-Carlton restaurant, Fearing’s.
Shafkat Anowar / Staff Photographer
Chef Dean Fearing was honored with a star of a different kind this month from the Culinary Institute of America, his alma mater. Here’s why: He’s been called the “father of Southwestern cuisine” — a chef who didn’t follow the French culinary mold that was popular when he was starting his career in Dallas nearly 50 years ago. He went on to work at Dallas’ high-profile Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, then opened Fearing’s at the Ritz-Carlton.
Michelin gave Fearing’s Recommended status in 2024, honoring it for “surprising” dishes and “bold” flavors in dishes that feature buffalo, antelope, salmon, eel and more.
Fearing’s is at 2121 McKinney Ave., Dallas.

Fond in downtown Dallas
Garlic, crushed red chilies, mustard seeds, dried dill, peppercorn and bay leaf are used to season the pickles at Fond in Dallas.
Juan Figueroa / Staff Photographer
Food lovers in Dallas fuss over Fond, the bistro tucked into an office building in downtown Dallas. And rightfully so. Chefs Jennie Kelley and Brandon Moore’s lunch menu features great renditions of classic dishes, like Caesar salad, grilled cheese and soft serve for dessert. Our Claire Ballor says Fond makes the best pickles in town. Seats go fast for their special dinners, so put your name on the list.
Fond is at 1601 Elm St. (in the Santander Tower), Dallas.
Georgie in Dallas
Georgie: same stylish dining room, now with a new chef.
Tom Fox / Staff Photographer
New Georgie chef Wes Whitsell is still making changes to the near-Knox Street restaurant, so it should be interesting to see if Michelin takes notice. Before Whitsell, former chef RJ Yoakum helped make the restaurant a beacon for foodies in Dallas. It received Recommended status in 2024.
Inspectors have also likely looked at this restaurant’s new sibling, Le PasSage. The Katy Trail adjacent restaurant sells French-Asian food, with a thrilling mushroom caramel dessert.
Georgie is at 4514 Travis St., Dallas.
Goldee’s Barbecue in Fort Worth
‘Food & Wine’ picked the co-founders of Goldee’s Barbecue in Fort Worth as some of the best new chefs in the country.
Food & Wine 2024
Honored with a Bib Gourmand in 2024, Goldee’s should still be on Michelin minds in 2025. I mean, if four top-notch barbecue spots in other parts of Texas won Michelin stars, how close was Dallas-Fort Worth’s best barbecue joint from winning one? Goldee’s owners have mentored new-school pitmasters across the state, and their restaurant remains one of the most influential barbecue haunts in Texas, despite its young age.
Goldee’s Barbecue is at 4645 Dick Price Road, Fort Worth.
Harvest at the Masonic in McKinney
Executive chef Andrea Shackelford adds the final touches to a dish at 2024 Michelin Recommended restaurant Harvest in McKinney.
Jason Janik / Special Contributor
In 2024, Michelin didn’t reach too far outside of the confines of Dallas and Fort Worth, but it made an exception with Harvest, the only Recommended restaurant in McKinney. Michelin loved the seasonally-crafted menu and live music. It would be great to see some love, again, for this north-of-Dallas restaurant.
Harvest at the Masonic is at 215 N. Kentucky St., McKinney.
Lonesome Dove Western Bistro in Fort Worth
The 25-course tasting at Lonesome Dove in 2025 was rare for any Texas restaurant.
Shafkat Anowar / Staff Photographer
Fort Worth chef Tim Love took a chance in 2025 by releasing a 25-course menu to celebrate Lonesome Dove Western Bistro’s 25th birthday. Did it catch the attention of Michelin critics pining for more “Texas” food? It was a wild adventure, where diners ate kangaroo, rattlesnake, baby pigeon and five courses of beef. If Michelin says they’re looking for the “personality of the chef” on the plate, as is one of its five criteria, Love did that in 2025.
Lonesome Dove Western Bistro is at 2406 N. Main St., Fort Worth.

Lucia in Oak Cliff
Lucia is owned by David and Jennifer Uygur.
Juan Figueroa / Staff Photographer
It was wonderful to see the owners of one of Dallas’ most beloved Italian restaurants, Lucia, honored at the 2024 Michelin ceremony. But it was strange, too, because Lucia received a Bib Gourmand, which Michelin defines as a great restaurant where customers can order three courses for $50 or less.
Lucia is a lot of things, but inexpensive it is not. We’re hoping Lucia is given a more fitting Michelin honor in 2025.
Lucia is at 287 N. Bishop Ave., Dallas.
Mābo in Dallas
Chef Masayuki Otaka formerly owned Teppo on Greenville Avenue in Dallas before closing it and opening Mābo.
Chitose Suzuki / Staff Photographer
Dallas has plenty of omakase restaurants, but Mābo in Dallas’ Preston Center is different. For $200 per person, customers in this zen den are handed a dozen or so courses of mostly skewers of meat, seafood and vegetables cooked on the yakitori. At just eight seats, Mābo is one of Dallas’ smallest, most refined dinner spots. It was absent from Michelin’s list in 2024.
Mābo is at 6109 Berkshire Lane, Suite B, (in Preston Center), Dallas.

Mot Hai Ba in Dallas
Garlic noodles at Mot Hai Ba in Dallas are legendary.
Nathan Hunsinger / Staff Photographer
Ask a plugged-in Dallas diner, and Mot Hai Ba is one of the best date-night spots in the city. (The same could be said for chef-owner Peja Krstic’s second restaurant, Pillar in Oak Cliff, also a good option.) Michelin picked Mot Hai Ba for a Bib Gourmand in 2024. It’s cozy and beloved, but is it a value-driven Bib restaurant? Not in our eyes. Mot Hai Ba deserves higher praise.
Mot Hai Ba is at 6047 Lewis St., Dallas.

Osteria il Muro in Denton
Osteria Del Muro is a restaurant in a renovated home in Denton.
Brandon Wade / Special Contributor
Is Denton too far outside of Dallas or Fort Worth to be considered? We sure hope not, because Osteria il Muro is worth the drive. (And driving is the whole reason why this tire company started reviewing restaurants in the first place.) Osteria il Muro is small and the menu changes regularly.
Osteria il Muro is at 311 W. Congress St., Denton.
Quarter Acre in Dallas
About 35% of guests order the tasting menu from Toby Archibald’s East Dallas restaurant Quarter Acre, a restaurant rep confirmed.
Emily Loving
New Zealand-born chef Toby Archibald is one of the most focused restaurateurs in Dallas-Fort Worth. After Quarter Acre was Recommended by Michelin in 2024, Archibald added a tasting menu, available any night the restaurant is open. Michelin said “his cuisine walks a line between flashiness and substance” while offering “eye-catching presentations and an occasional flair for the dramatic,” which feels like the restaurant could be destined for great things.
Quarter Acre is at 2023 Greenville Ave., Dallas.
Radici in Farmers Branch
Chef Tiffany Derry, we see you.
Juan Figueroa / Staff Photographer
When chef Tiffany Derry isn’t a judge on MasterChef, she’s often in one of her Farmers Branch kitchens. Her newer restaurant is Radici, an Italian spot in a Farmers Branch strip center that’s equal parts unassuming and impressive. Derry is also lauded for her Southern cooking a few doors down, at Roots Southern Table. Both are worth consideration, but we’re naming Radici here because it’s the new kid on the block.
Radici is at 13050 Bee St., Farmers Branch.
Resident Taqueria in Dallas’ Lake Highlands
We’ve suggested Michelin should take a deeper look at our taquerias. Resident in Lake Highlands is a shining example of affordable food, served in a comfortable setting with impressive technique. It’s not fancy and that’s just right: We’d love to see more neighborhood restaurants in the Texas guide.
Resident Taqueria is at 9661 Audelia Road, Dallas.
Restaurant Beatrice in Dallas
Of any restaurant in Dallas, Restaurant Beatrice is making the most significant strides toward environmental sustainability, making it a potential contender for Michelin’s Green Star. Dallas Morning News food writer Ballor detailed chef-owner Michelle Carpenter’s painstaking efforts to track the greenhouse gas emissions of the humble Cajun restaurant. And why? “Eventually we’re not going to have a choice,” Carpenter told The News. “We’re trying to be an example of what’s possible for small businesses. If we can do this with limited resources, I know other restaurants can do this.”
Restaurant Beatrice is at 1111 N. Beckley Ave., Dallas.

Rye on Dallas’ Greenville Avenue
Fun fact about Dallas restaurant Rye: It’s also a tourist destination for fans of ‘Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.’ Guy Fieri visited Rye for a recent season of the Food Network show.
Food Network / Citizen Pictures
To get one award from Michelin is big. To get two? Bigger. In 2024, East Dallas restaurant Rye was Recommended and honored for its Exceptional Cocktails. It’s was the only Dallas-Fort Worth restaurant to get two in 2024, making it a competitor for more praise in 2025.
Perhaps more importantly, co-owners Tanner Agar and Taylor Rause are showing continued creativity. Their bar Apothecary remains one of the most interesting cocktail haunts, their new Plano restaurant Flamant is upping the food game in the suburbs, and their flagship restaurant Rye has so many special events and menus, we’re feeling FOMO. If Michelin critics seek originality and personality, Rye is doing it.
Rye is at 1920 Greenville Ave., Dallas.
Sabar Barbecue in Fort Worth
Sabar means ‘patience’ in Urdu and Arabic. The Fort Worth food truck serves lunch on Saturdays and Sundays only.
Elías Valverde II / Staff Photographer
How cool would it be for a food truck in Fort Worth to get Michelin recognition? Sabar Barbecue serves Pakistani flavors on Texas smoked meat, and its efforts were highlighted recently in a Bon Appetit story about impressive Muslim pitmasters. Sabar’s menu includes tandoori turkey marinated in yogurt, seekh kebah sausage with chiles, Sichuan lamb ribs and more, served with sides like daal chawaal, kachumber salad and fruit chaat. It’s a smart way to do barbecue, and owner Zain Shafi is its standout star.
Sabar Barbecue is at 194 Bryan Ave., Fort Worth. Look for the royal blue Sabar Barbecue truck parked in the parking lot.

Sachet in Highland Park
Walking into Sachet is quietly comforting.
Ben Torres / Special Contributor
Whether it’s lunch, dinner or drinks, Sachet is a stylish and satiating restaurant. Healthful options abound, like the veg-forward dishes of roasted cauliflower and chickpeas; heirloom carrots with lentil puree; and blue oyster mushrooms with Greek fava puree and almonds. Meals can also be filling, like Sachet’s Wagyu steak frites, salmon with couscous, and bowls of crab tagliatelle and sausage orecchiette. More importantly, Sachet is one of Dallas’ most consistently great restaurants — a feat. It was Recommended in 2024.
Sachet is at 4270 Oak Lawn Ave., Dallas.
Tatsu Dallas in Deep Ellum
One of the most heartwarming photos from the Michelin Guide Texas ceremony in 2024 was when a shocked Hiroko Sekiguchi and her husband Chef Tatsuya Sekiguchi heard their restaurant name, Tatsu, called. It was the only Michelin-starred restaurant in Dallas in 2024.
Shafkat Anowar / Staff Photographer
Tatsu is nearly last on this alphabetical list, but it’s the single most likely restaurant in Dallas-Fort Worth to receive a Michelin star in 2025. Tatsu was Dallas’ only Michelin-star recipient in 2024. Namesake Tatsuya “Tatsu” Sekiguchi and his wife, Hiroko Sekiguchi, continue to strive to be one of the state’s best omakase restaurants.
Tatsu is at 3309 Elm St., Dallas.
Written by the Seasons in Uptown and Oak Cliff
Written by the Seasons added a second Dallas location, in an Uptown development called The Quad.
Marque Makes, LLC / Marque Makes, LLC
Michelin called Written by the Seasons a “perfect fit for the Bishop Arts District” when it was Recommended in 2024. The second location, in Uptown Dallas, is a great fit, too. Businesspeople stop in for delicious mutabal dip with flatbread to start, followed by salmon and couscous for lunch or duck confit with red curry for dinner.
Written by the Seasons is at 380 Melba St., Dallas. A second location opened in 2025 at 2681 Howell St., Dallas.
