San Antonio welcomed its latest wine bar this weekend with the grand opening of King William Wine Co. in the Blue Star Arts Complex.

The beautifully appointed space offers a full dinner menu, a liquor bar and an extensive wine list ranging from Texas and Napa standouts to bottles from Europe, South America, Australia, South Africa and beyond.

Currently, the spot is only open for dinner service Thursday through Saturday. Its elevated menu offers selections such as lavender-braised lamb shank, beef osso buco and other European comfort food.

In a Facebook post announcing its debut, the business added that it will begin opening for Sunday brunch starting Nov. 30. The post describes the “Bacon & Bubbles” brunches as a “playful, delicious celebration of champagne and comfort food.”

“Most of all, we cannot wait for you to experience what we believe is one of the most beautiful bar spaces in San Antonio, created with so much care and heart,” owners Jill Quick-McCrosky and Juan Arreguin added.

King William Wine Co., 1420 S. Alamo St., Suite 102, has taken over the former location of ice cream shop South Alamode in the bustling arts complex and cultural hub.

Seating at King William Wine Co. is limited, so the owners encourage making reservations.
