Earlier this month, the “King of Country” sparked an online frenzy after announcing a rare opportunity for Texas fans to see him back on stage in 2026. The pressure to snag tickets was on, as George Strait said he’d be performing under the Texas sky for one night only. That all changed on Monday, November 17.
Following “overwhelming demand” for his April 25, 2026 concert at Texas Tech’s Jones AT&T Stadium, the Grammy Award-winning artist will now spend two nights in West Texas. Strait’s show will now start one day early as he’s added a second concert at Texas Tech’s football stadium on April 24, 2026, according to a post on X.
He will be joined by 28-year-old Washington native Zach Top, singer of “I Never Lie” and “Bad Luck.” Another artist set for an appearance that evening is Dylan Gossett, who hails from Austin and is fresh off the release of a new album called Westward.
Presale tickets for both shows become available at 10 a.m. Monday. Music lovers can sign up now for early access to tickets at http://georgestrait.com/shows. Public tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 21, though there’s no telling how many seats will be available by then.
The mini-tour marks the “Check Yes or No” singer’s return to the Lone Star State after a slew of national gigs with Parker McCollum, Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town. He initially teased his coming home with a social media post, which featured a cartoon of a Texas highway with a sign saying “next exit 425 miles.”
After his April 24 show, Strait will be back the next night to win over the Lubbock crowd. The April 25 show features the iconic Miranda Lambert and rising star Hudson Westbrook.
