Brian Lusk, currently the deputy superintendent of academics and transformation at Dallas Independent School District, has been chosen as the sole finalist to be the next superintendent of the El Paso Independent School District, multiple sources told El Paso Matters.

An announcement of the selection is expected Tuesday morning, said the sources, who asked not to be identified because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly.
Lusk will succeed Diana Sayavedra, who resigned earlier this year amid growing tension with the EPISD school board.
He was selected as sole finalist by a unanimous school board early Tuesday. Under Texas law, the school board must wait for 21 days before hiring a sole finalist as superintendent.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
