Houston is fueling growth for small businesses in the Bayou City

  • November 18, 2025

As Houston’s business landscape continues to thrive, one event is helping local business owners take their next big leap: The Experience: Houston.

Hosted by Chase for Business on November 5, this dynamic, one-day workshop brought together hundreds of business owners for hands-on learning, interactive sessions and invaluable networking opportunities designed to empower the leaders building Houston’s future.

Houston was the grand finale of Chase for Business’s nationwide The Experience tour, which visited Seattle, Tampa, Boston and San Diego before culminating in the Bayou City. The event highlighted Houston’s unique position as a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship, with a focus on equipping small business owners with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s fast-changing economy.

Attendees at The Experience: Houston participated in sessions on small business resilience, stepping into their power as business owners and leveraging AI for their businesses, all while benefiting from direct access to industry experts and local business mentors.

The event underscored the power of community and collaboration, with business owners connecting to share ideas, explore partnerships and strengthen the fabric of Houston’s small business ecosystem.

The event’s timing is especially significant for local entrepreneurs. As 2025 winds down, small businesses in Houston and across the nation are demonstrating remarkable resilience.

According to Chase for Business’ September monthly sentiment tracker, 73% of business owners felt positive about their outlook despite ongoing economic pressures. Many are adapting through creative strategies — from diversifying suppliers to adopting new technologies like automation, cybersecurity and AI. In fact, 80% of business owners plan to integrate AI-based tools by 2026.

“Houston’s small business community is a reflection of the city’s overall energy and determination,” said Ben Walter, CEO of Chase for Business. “I’ve seen firsthand how local entrepreneurs are not only adapting to change but actively shaping the future and embracing new technologies while also building strong networks. Their commitment to growth and resilience is inspiring.”

Nowhere is this momentum more evident than in Houston. From health care and manufacturing to trade and customer service, small businesses are the engine driving local job growth. The health care sector in particular has seen exceptional expansion, with Houston’s providers outpacing national peers and supporting a growing network of medical facilities and research centers.

Manufacturing also remains robust, anchored by Houston’s strengths in chemicals, petroleum, aerospace and health care.

Chase for Business is deeply invested in this progress, supporting more than 267,000 small business customers in Houston alone. Through partnerships with organizations like the Houston Minority Supplier Development Council and the Houston East End Chamber of Commerce, Chase for Business is helping to fuel opportunity offering access to capital, financial education and mentorship.

Events like The Experience: Houston are a testament to the power of bringing business owners together to learn, connect and grow. As small businesses continue to adapt and lead, Houston stands as a model for resilience, innovation and community spirit.
