LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Xavier Garcia pleaded guilty to the murders of 25-year-old Kmydron Jordan and 20-year-old Katrina Castillo Tuesday morning.
Jordan was shot and killed in January 2018. Nearly a month after Jordan’s murder, Castillo’s body was found in the yard of a home in February 2018.
Judge Trey McClendon in the 137th District Court sentenced Garcia to life in prison without parole for the Capital Murder of Castillo.
Garcia also got life in prison for the murder of Jordan.
The sentences will run consecutively.
On the morning of January 13, 2018, officers found Jordan’s body inside a vehicle near 84th and Avenue N from a gunshot wound. Investigators determined Jordan was shot inside city limits in the 8100 block of I-27 where Jordan planned to meet Garcia and a second man, Devante Greathouse.
Garcia and Greathouse were indicted in connection with Jordan’s murder in November 2018.
Greathouse remains in the Lubbock County Detention Center charged with murder.
On February 5, 2018, Castillo’s body was found in the backyard of a home near East 2nd Street and Peach Avenue. The homeowners called the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office to report her body.
Days later, Garcia was identified as a person of interest in Castillo’s murder and taken into custody.
Court documents revealed Garcia stabbed Castillo to death after kidnapping and robbing her. Garcia later confessed to her murder after he was found in possession of her vehicle at the time of his arrest.
