LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A man is now indicted in connection with a deadly 2024 motorcycle crash.
The Lubbock County Grand Jury handed down formal charges to 62-year-old Dane Powell. He is accused of driving drunk along Highway 84 near County Road 7200.
Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety report his truck was in multiple lanes as Powell was stopped in the center. Motorcycle rider 49-year-old Danny Vasquez hit the truck and lost control of the bike. He died at the scene.
Powell was originally charged with intoxicated manslaughter but he is now accused of aggravated assault and DWI.
