LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – It dropped to 55 in Lubbock this morning, with some upper 40s over the western South Plains. This is a sign we’re now in mid-October, though the afternoons feel a bit more like September.
The typical low for tomorrow’s date is 48, typical high 76. Even though we’ve seen cooler mornings, these are still above the typical mark. Of course, October is often a month of change…and long stretches of dry, mild weather aren’t uncommon. This afternoon it’s in the mid 80s, with similar weather expected next few days.
Tonight’s low near Lubbock near 56, a few upper 40s possible west of the city.

Upper-level high pressure over the middle of the country will weaken some next couple of days. There is an upper-level storm system over the Northwestern United States. None of this supports a good rain chance. But there might be an isolated shower or storm somewhere west/northwest of Lubbock late Thursday. But it’s a low chance.
