Assembly Icehouse is now open at Plano’s Assembly Park, bringing a lively, family-friendly hangout built for connection, comfort and fun.

Developed by Blender Brands with Triten Real Estate Partners, the 4,850-square-foot space mixes rustic and industrial design with vaulted ceilings, wood and metal accents and floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the room with natural light. We went on a chilly evening and soaked up eats, drinks, sports and good vibes. This has to be one of the most family-friendly sports bars we’ve been to!

Outside, a covered patio opens directly to the park’s central lawn, giving the whole place an easy indoor-outdoor flow. There’s a putting green, sure, but the space itself is open enough to make the experience comfortable for adults and kiddos alike.

Inside, an island-shaped bar anchors the room, surrounded by more than 30 TVs. “We keep adding them,” manager Mel Fasang tells us. “It’s a great setup for games and live music. When the weather cooperates and the big doors come up, it becomes one big scene.”

What To Eat

The menu takes familiar bar favorites and gives them a modern spin. The Tejas Philly, for example, is served on an authentic Amoroso roll, the classic bread used in real Philadelphia cheesesteaks. There’s chicken and waffles, a solid smashburger and wings — all of which Assembly Icehouse takes seriously.

“All of our wings are brined 24 hours overnight,” Mel says. “They’re dredged in rice flour and cornstarch so the batter’s gluten-free. Then we fry them, cool them down, and twice fry to order. No matter what, they’re always crispy.”

For Those With Dietary Restrictions

The fryer runs on beef tallow (sorry vegetarians), adding depth to the fries. Ingredient-wise, the wings are gluten-free, though shared oil means they aren’t celiac-safe.

What To Drink

The drinks program is built around speed and consistency. “Our food comes out fast,” Mel says. “So we put cocktails on tap to match that pace.” The smoked old fashioned is the showpiece: batched, cold-smoked with hickory, bottled, chilled and then finished with cherry wood smoke at the table. “The goal is fresh and fast with consistency,” he says. “No matter who’s behind the bar, it’ll taste the same every time.”

And then there are the all-day, every-day drink deals. “I like coming up with things that are an all-the-time deal,” Mel says. “Why push certain hours when you can make something a draw all day?” That means $4 Lone Star Tallboys and $4 Montucky Cold Snacks, no happy-hour window, no fine print. “It even makes accounting easier,” he jokes.

And If You Have Kids…

The space is built for families as much as friend groups. Like we said, the place is family-friendly. There’s turf, lounge seating, a putting mat and access to the playground next door. “Families can really spread out here,” says Mel. Live country and rock acts are already part of the weekend rotation, with a full stage build-out coming soon.

With more than 30 TVs, comfort food done right and a relaxed setting, Assembly Icehouse feels made for game days, family outings and everything in between.

Assembly Icehouse is located at 6185 Assembly Park Blvd C, Plano.
