More than 8,000 Oncor customers across North Texas were left without power Thursday morning following thunderstorms and a brief flash flood warning.
About 5,717 Oncor customers are without power in Dallas, Tarrant and Collin counties as of 8 a.m. Thursday, according to the Oncor outage map. Including other counties serviced by Oncor, like Hunt, Denton and Parker, the outages jump to 8,336 customers affected.
Across most of the counties, restoration times are still under review. Oncor is currently monitoring the storm system as it works to restore power, according to a statement on its site.
North Texas acquired up to three inches of rain during the early morning storm Thursday. A flash flood warning was briefly issued until 6:45 a.m. in western Collin, northern Dallas, southeastern Denton and Tarrant counties.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected by the weather service to continue throughout the day. There is a flood watch in North and Central Texas until 6 a.m. Friday, as well as a low tornado threat.
