LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Native West Texan and Republican Abraham Enriquez officially announced his campaign for Congress in Texas’ 19th District.
Earlier this month, current Congressman Jodey Arrington said he will not seek re-election in 2026. Arrington was elected to congress in 2016 and has served for nearly a decade.
Enriquez is the founder of Bienvenido, an organization dedicated to advancing policies that empower the Hispanic community throughout the Trump Administration. His efforts earned him the Republican National Committee’s Rising Star Award.
“I’m running for Congress because West Texas needs a warrior who won’t flinch,” Abraham said. “President Trump is rebuilding America, and I’ll stand with him to do it again. The radical left has declared war on our values, our energy jobs, our borders, and our freedoms. West Texans know exactly what’s at stake, and so do I.”
Abraham graduated in 2018 from Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with double minors in International Business and Spanish with a concentration in Pre-Law.
