The Grand Prairie Fire Department responded to a house fire Thursday morning and pulled three people from the building.

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — Grand Prairie firefighters rescued three people from a burning home Thursday morning, officials said. 

Firefighters responded to reports of a fire around 5:06 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in the 2700 block of Sweetbriar Lane, the Grand Prairie Fire Department said in a press release. 

When firefighters arrived, they learned that three people were trapped inside, the release states. In response, crews requested a second alarm response, officials said. 

Firefighters found one victim in the back bedroom of the home and began life-saving measures, the release states. Two more victims were pulled from the structure by firefighters, officials said. 

All three victims were taken to the hospital and one person is in critical condition, the release states. 

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.Â
