According to Sheriff Javiar Salazar, Dramiga went for a walk on the greenway trail on September 22, 2024. She was an avid hiker who frequented the trails, but did not return home that day, and was reported missing by her husband that night.

Dramiga, 63, was found on September 23 at Defoste Park on the Salado Creek Greenway. She had been sexually assaulted and partially burned, but her official cause of death was ruled as a homicide due to blunt force trauma and penetration trauma to the head. Male DNA was found on her body and a rock at the scene, which was believed to be the murder weapon.

On Monday, authorities received a call that a DNA hit had been confirmed. Charon had been arrested and booked into the Bexar County jail on unrelated charges, but the jail tests DNA and enters it into the CODIS system. A match was then found in connection with Charon and the DNA collected at Dramiga’s crime scene. A second DNA was collected from Charon, which confirmed the match.

Charon lived near the Salado Creek Greenway Trail, where Dramiga was last known to be walking. He has been arrested for Capital Murder and Tampering with Human Corpse.
