1. Muslim civil rights group sues Texas for labeling it a terrorist organization

A Muslim civil rights group that Texas’ governor Greg Abbott labeled a “foreign terrorist organization” filed a lawsuit challenging the move Thursday, saying it violates the U.S. Constitution and state law.

2. Government ordered to resume deportation protection program for vulnerable immigrant youth

A federal judge issued an order Wednesday requiring the Trump administration to again consider granting protection from deportation to certain vulnerable young immigrants.

U.S. District Judge Eric Komitee ordered U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to again consider granting deportation protection under a 2022 program the agency rescinded in June. The decision will allow the program to continue while the lawsuit brought by plaintiffs in July continues.

3. Austin ISD moves forward with plan to close 10 schools

After an hourslong meeting stretching into the early morning hours on Friday, Austin ISD voted 6-3 to move forward with their plan to close 10 schools. 

They are Becker, Barrington, Dawson, Oak Springs, Ridgetop, Sunset Valley and Widén Elementaries; Winn Montessori; and Bedichek and Martin Middle Schools

Austin FC releases 2026 schedule, will play Messi in Miami

Austin FC has released its 2026 schedule, and they will finally play Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami. Unfortunately for Austin fans, the game will be on the road at Miami Freedom Park on April 4.
