My husband and I, along with our three children, have found Ridglea Hills on the west side of Fort Worth to be the perfect neighborhood for this chapter of life.Â
The area is filled with charming midcentury architecture from the ’50s and ’60s and, true to its name, plenty of hills!
We’ve found the neighborhood rich with family-centric activities from kids freely running from yard to yard, to unique community events like the beloved Fourth of July parade and fireworks show and the annual Halloween festival. It’s a neighborhood where people show up, participate and genuinely care about one another. We have made wonderful friends living here.
Another true gem of the neighborhood is Ridglea Hills Elementary. It’s a special school filled with parents, teachers and administrators who are dedicated to creating a safe, joyful and enriching learning environment for kids. The campus hosts a variety of events throughout the year that make each child’s experience memorable. A special shoutout to Principal Crenesha Cotton, who has led the school with steady, heartfelt dedication for many years.
Practically speaking, the neighborhood also offers unbeatable convenience. Grocery stores, plus Archie’s and Ace Hardware, are along Camp Bowie Boulevard. Large retailers are off Interstate 20, and delicious restaurants like Piattello, Doc B’s and Duck Donuts (a kid favorite!) are all close by, making daily life easy and accessible.
Beyond the neighborhood, we’ve grown to love Fort Worth itself. It’s a city that feels big when you need it to and small when you want it to be. There’s a sense of pride here — in community, in local businesses, in the city’s heritage — that you don’t find everywhere.Â
Fort Worth manages to blend growth and opportunity with warmth and authenticity, and that combination has made it an incredible place for our family to put down roots.
