This Saturday’s game between Samford and No. 3 Texas A&M was as uncompetitive as it gets, and yet, the authorities managed to make headlines at Kyle Field.
Last week, a state trooper went viral for the wrong reasons during the first half between South Carolina and Texas A&M. After wide receiver Nyck Harbor had an 80-yard touchdown for the Gamecocks, he was bumped by a Texas state trooper. It looked as if the state trooper was trying to initiate a confrontation with the South Carolina star.

The Department of Public Safety trooper who was involved in this altercation was pulled from his assignment mid-game.
“The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is aware of the incident that occurred today during the Texas A&M football game,” the DPS said in a statement. “The DPS Trooper involved was sent home from the game. Our Office of Inspector General (OIG) is also aware of the incident and will be further looking into the matter. No additional information will be released at this time.”
