Traffic flowing following crash on South Loop 289

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A wreck Sunday morning slowed traffic for miles along South Loop 289. The crash was between Slide and Quaker roads, in the eastbound main lanes of the Loop. Traffic was backed up as far as the West Loop near the Marsha Sharp Freeway.

As of 11:30 a.m., all lanes have re-opened and the TXDOT online map shows traffic moving well.

Roads will be wet through today, with more rain in the forecast through the afternoon. Please slow down. And if emergency crews are responding to a crash, remember it is the law to slow to down and/or move over.

The wreck was between Slide Road and Quaker Road on the eastbound main lanes. Traffic was backed up past Spur 327, all the way to the Marsha Sharp Freeway, according to TXDOT’s online map.
