Amazon is creating several thousand jobs across Texas and the Houston area ahead of the holiday season, according to a news release from the company.

24,000 full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions will open in Texas, including 3,000 across Greater Houston, the company said. Full- and part-time employees earn roughly $23 an hour with benefits, while seasonal employees can earn over $19 an hour on average. Roles are posted weekly from October through December on hiring.amazon.com.

Amazon has invested $84.3 billion in Texas since 2010, while independent sellers from Texas last year sold more than 216 million items, according to the company.
