OUR FIRST REPORT: 2 men dead in shooting in West Houston
According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to an assault call around 7:35 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 6300 block of Windswept Lane.
At the scene, they found one man near the apartments suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital by paramedics, where he was pronounced dead.
While still on the scene, officers were alerted to reports of a second victim lying on a nearby sidewalk with gunshot wounds.
Paramedics pronounced the second man dead at the location.
Police soon determined that the shootings were likely connected, and further evidence led investigators to identify a suspect who was seen walking away from the scene. They believe they have identified that man as Coc Xol.
Coc Xol remains at large, and detectives are actively searching for him.
HPD is asking anyone with information on Coc Xol’s whereabouts or details about the case to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
