I

n 2015, Philip and Rebecca Silvestri took a leap of faith. Within seven whirlwind weeks, they purchased Plano Profile, a beloved 30-year-old community magazine, got married and moved to Texas, inheriting a legacy of connecting neighbors and celebrating local life.

As Local Profile grew, and especially during COVID, the complexity of running a fast-moving business multiplied.

“Suddenly, we weren’t just running a magazine,” Philip recalls. “We were keeping a business alive, a team motivated and a community connected through uncertainty.”

That’s when the couple turned to Sandi Mitchell of Apex Catalyst Group, a certified EOS Implementer, to help them implement the Entrepreneurial Operating System, a framework designed to help leaders bring structure and clarity to their vision.

“We started EOS at a time when everything was shifting,” says Philip Silvestri, CEO of Community Profile (ComPro). “It gave us a framework to turn chaos into clarity, to move from reacting to daily fires to regaining control and dreaming big again.”

A Turning Point

With Sandi’s guidance, the team adopted EOS practices that gave everyone shared goals and clear priorities. Setting 90-day targets became a game-changer, helping the team see how each quarter built toward something bigger.

“EOS helped us align our people, purpose and priorities,” Philip says. “It didn’t happen overnight. We built that muscle quarter by quarter, getting stronger and clearer together as a team.”

“Sandi’s coaching helped us ask the right questions, lead with purpose and build discipline,” he adds. “Those lessons carried us through the pandemic and continue to guide us today.”

A Vision For Growth And Impact

Today, Local Profile is more than a publication. It’s a trusted voice and community connector reaching hundreds of thousands each month through print, digital, events, email newsletters and social media — all helping people love where they live.

“We’ve evolved from simply offering ads to helping leading companies engage meaningfully with the communities they serve,” says Rebecca Silvestri, publisher of Local Profile. “Our clients don’t just buy space. They align with our mission and connect through high-trust storytelling that builds long-term ROI.”

While Rebecca leads the day-to-day publishing operations, Philip focuses on the company’s long-term vision. That clarity, strengthened through EOS, now guides their next chapter as they expand under Community Profile (ComPro), the umbrella company behind Local Profile.

From Local Roots To A Bigger Purpose

“As a company, we’re stronger than ever,” Philip says. “We have a unified team, clear goals and a renewed sense of direction: to make local media stronger than ever. Because of EOS and Sandi’s incredible partnership, we’re ready to take bold steps into the future.”

With EOS as their foundation, the couple has found the freedom to lean into their strengths. Rebecca focuses on growing Local Profile today, and Philip is shaping what’s possible tomorrow.
