Lubbock can be anything for anyone as long as you know where to look. But sometimes, it can seem like the city is missing those core elements when it comes to certain expectations.

More Family Activities

A common response was the lack of activities in the Hub City. I’m sorry, but I say that’s just not the case! Lubbock is packed with activities for all ages.

One of my favorites is the Science Spectrum. Whether you are going with your young children or with some friends, you will not leave disappointed.

Another quick evening stop in Lubbock is Prairie Dog Town. A tourist’s dream destination, Prairie Dog Town is perfect for families, lovers, and friends to see some of West Texas’s silliest native animals.

If these don’t spark curiosity, you could always try the Texas Tech Museum, Main Event, Adventure Park, Buddy Holly Center, or Stars & Stripes Drive-In. So many options!

A Better Dating Scene

Another thing Lubbockites say the city is lacking is serious dating options. The good news is that the city actually puts on frequent singles parties and mixers.

As far as the quality of individuals, unfortunately, dating when you’re over 30 runs into the same risks in Lubbock as with everywhere else. Just be smart, and red flags should definitely NOT be ignored.

More Mountains, Hills, and Rivers

Lastly, some of my favorite responses had to do with the geography of Lubbock which, I hate to break it to you, will NOT be changing anytime soon.

As much as I would love to have the Rocky Mountains as our backdrop, or a deep blue river bringing life through our slice of West Texas, unless we’re in store for some impressive earthquakes soon, that just ain’t happening.
