FORT WORTH, Texas (Nov. 24, 2025) – The 44th Annual YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth Turkey Trot on Thursday, Nov. 27, has a new route. For the first time, the race will take place in the heart of downtown Fort Worth and take participants past the city’s most iconic landmarks — including Tarrant County Courthouse, Sundance Square, the Trinity River and, of course, the YMCA’s Fort Worth Amon G. Carter, Jr. Downtown Branch. Below are details for media wishing to cover the event.

Where: This year’s starting lines will be located in front of Bass Hall, 525 Commerce St., with the finish line and other activities taking place near General Worth Square – in front of the Fort Worth Convention Center, 1201 Houston St.

What/When: The 1K Gobbler Trot kicks off at 7:45 a.m. The 5K and 8K races will start together at 8:30 a.m. Awards for top runners will be presented at 10 a.m., followed by the costume contest at 10:15 a.m.

Who: More than 12,000 participants, spectators and pets are expected. This marks the third year that Texas Health Resources will serve as presenting sponsor. The event is also supported by Moritz Dealerships.    

Why: The Trot is an important fundraiser for the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth. All proceeds support programs that benefit the overall well-being of individuals residing in Tarrant, Johnson, Parker and Hood counties.
