AUSTIN, Texas — Early voting starts next week, and Austinites will see several items on the November ballot. One of those items is Proposition Q. That would increase property taxes to generate around $100 million for city services such as parks, public health and safety. The increase would cost taxpayers around $300 a year.
Texas voters will also vote on seventeen constitutional amendments. These amendments include billions of dollars in property tax cuts for homeowners, limits on when a person can be released on bail and clarification on citizenship requirements for Texas voters.
Early voting starts Monday, October 20. Election Day is November 4.
