Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II is being evaluated for swelling and discomfort in his right foot, the organization announced on Tuesday.

He will miss the team’s upcoming three-game road trip through Los Angeles and Denver, and a further timeline on a potential recovery will be provided in approximately 7-10 days, the team said.

The center last appeared in Friday’s win over New Orleans.

Lively scored four points and grabbed four rebounds in 18 minutes of action. It was his seventh appearance in 19 Mavericks games so far this season.

His brief four-game return to the lineup came after he missed nearly three weeks due to a right knee sprain that occurred on Oct. 26.

Lively has averaged 4.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.6 blocks this season. He and the franchise hoped the 2025-26 campaign would be a breakout year, one that had minimal injuries unlike his first two years in the league.

Lively has now played in just 98 out of a possible 183 regular season games so far in his professional career since he was acquired by former general manager Nico Harrison during the 2023 NBA draft.
