Cattlemens Bank has purchased a site for the construction of a new banking center in Tavolo Park in southwest Fort Worth.
The bank will be constructed at the southeast corner of Altamesa Boulevard and Bryant Irvin Road, Team & Vasseur, the real estate firm who represented the bank, said on Tuesday. Â
Bill Ellis and Kevin Cavasos of Team & Vasseur worked on behalf of the bank.
The project represents another significant step in the growth of Cattlemens Bank in the DFW area. Mike Hopkins is Fort Worth market president. Mark Holder is vice chairman of the board.
The history of Cattlemens Bank begins with mules in Oklahoma.
More than a century ago, Herman H. Reeves sold his only asset — a team of mules — for $350. With those proceeds, he joined Dr. J.P. Lee, L.O. Reeves, and C.H. Sharp to establish the First State Bank of Gould on March 1910. Launched with just two employees and $10,000 in capital, the bank opened its doors inside a corner of the town’s general store.
A second branch opened in Altus, Oklahoma, in 1998. At the same time, the bank’s charter moved from Gould to Altus, prompting a name change to Stockmans Bank. Between 2002-10, rising demand fueled the addition of four more branches across southwest Oklahoma and Texas.
The institution rebranded as Cattlemens Bank in 2021.
Cattlemens Bank remains family-owned and independent.
