The pursuit began after Choctaw Lighthorse Police were alerted to a stolen Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma maintenance truck traveling out of the Durant area.
Officers with Choctaw Lighthorse Police located the vehicle at a gas station in Tushka and attempted to block in the driver with assistance from the Atoka County Sheriff’s Office.
Benski fled the gas station and continued northbound on Highway 69 at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour when officers from the Stringtown Police Department joined the pursuit with a successful spike strip deployment.
Benski eventually came to a stop near Stringtown after losing his passenger side tires, and was taken into custody by Choctaw Lighthorse Police.
