From Stringtown Police Department

On 11/25/2025 at 1115 hours. Choctaw Lighthorse Police were advised of a Stolen Choctaw Nation Maintenance Truck out of the Durant area. A GPS tracker on their vehicle, indicated the vehicle was N/B Hwy 69 in Tushka.

A Choctaw Lighthorse Officer picked up the vehicle in Tushka at the Valero gas station and attempted to block the vehicle in, with the help of the Atoka County Sheriff’s Office.

The truck was able to avoid being boxed in and fled N/B Hwy 69 and a pursuit was initiated.

As the vehicle approached the town of Stringtown, Officers from the Stringtown Police Department deployed spike strips just N/O the N. Boggy Bridge and got a successful hit on the passenger side of the truck.

The truck continued N/B on Hwy 69 with Officers in pursuit, as the passenger side tires disintegrated from the the trucks rims. After the tires had left the rims, the driver continued to flee N/B.

As the truck neared the lower crossing (Bond St) the vehicle finally came to a stop. The driver then called 911 to ask the dispatcher “what all the fuss was about”.

The driver Nick Benski M/41 of Arlington TX. was taken into custody by Choctaw Lighthorse Police and booked into the Atoka County Jail on the below charges.

1) Theft of motor vehicle

2) Felony evading
