CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 20-year-old Alamo man was killed on Nov. 23 in a crash on U.S. 281 in Ben Bolt, according to state troopers.
The Texas Highway Patrol says Thomas Gomez was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Impala southbound behind a Kenworth truck tractor and trailer when he tried to change lanes and struck the back left side of the trailer, forcing his car off the roadway.
The truck and trailer, driven by 63-year-old Xavier Gonzalez of Edinburg, came to a stop on the southbound shoulder.
Gomez died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Noe Cadena.
Troopers in Alice are continuing to investigate what led to the collision.
