A police officer in Little Elm, Texas, captured a loose goat on the side of a busy road on Tuesday, November 25, and jokingly read the farm animal its rights.
Bodycam footage released by Little Elm Police Department shows the police officer capture the goat and help it into a police vehicle. In the video, the officer jokingly gives the goat a Miranda warning.
“You have the right to remain silent and not make any statements at all. Any statements you make may be used against you at trial. Any statements you make may be used as evidence against you in court,” he said. He ended the reading by asking the goat if he wanted to talk or not, stating, “Give me a baa.”
The police department shared the footage to Facebook and poked fun at the incident. “Goat hops into the patrol car unasked. Demands grass. Receives grass. Accepts his rights with zero remorse. If this is your goat, please retrieve him. He’s already trying to promote himself to Sergeant,” the post read. Credit: Little Elm Police Department via Storyful
