FORT WORTH, Texas — Two suspects were arrested in a bank jugging operation spanning multiple cities, thanks to a joint effort by the Fort Worth Police Department and the Arlington Police Department. The arrests took place on October 14, 2025, following a coordinated surveillance operation.

The Fort Worth Police Department’s Operations & Surveillance Team (OST) received information about two individuals, later identified as Courtland Smith-Montgomery and Geremy Brown, who were allegedly casing a Wells Fargo Bank on E. Berry Street in Fort Worth. Officers observed the suspects in a white sedan with mismatched license plates, parked suspiciously near the bank’s entrance and drive-thru, according to a press release from the department.

The suspects were then followed to a second Wells Fargo Bank on Rosedale Street in Fort Worth, where similar suspicious behavior was noted. The vehicle later traveled to Arlington, Texas, parking in front of the Navy Federal Credit Union on Waxwing Drive. Officers observed a customer leaving the credit union with an envelope, which the suspects then followed to a Walmart Supercenter on S. Cooper Street.

As the victim entered the store, Courtland Smith-Montgomery allegedly exited the sedan, broke the rear passenger-side window of the victim’s vehicle, and stole the envelope containing cash. The suspects fled the scene but were soon apprehended by the Fort Worth Criminal Tracking Unit, with assistance from the Arlington Police Department. The stolen funds were recovered and returned to the victim.

During the operation, a Fort Worth officer discovered an abandoned puppy in a crate at a local gas station. The officer took the puppy into their care and, after the successful arrests, officially adopted the animal.

This case highlights the commitment and teamwork of law enforcement officers in the Fort Worth and Arlington communities, as stated in the press release.
