DALLAS – The Dallas Police Department will give an update on the deadly officer-involved shooting outside a downtown nightclub that left two people dead.

The backstory:

The shooting happened early Monday morning on Commerce Street in Downtown Dallas.

Police said a confrontation between two people who knew each other started inside the club and spilled over to an adjacent parking lot. 

Multiple people were hit by gunfire before responding officers fired shots at the suspect. At least two people died, including the suspect.

Police have not yet released many other details.
