We did it, El Paso!!! Downtown El Paso is officially THAT holiday destination now, because Newsweek just crowned The Market at WinterFest the #1 Best Christmas Market in the entire country for 2026.
Yup! Our city’s cozy, glittering, small-business-powered market beat out every other festive pop-up in the U.S. And this may be my biased opinion but… It’s about time the rest of the country caught up with what El Pasoans already know: WinterFest is magical!!
“Being named America’s best Christmas market is a meaningful recognition for our community,” said Ben Fyffe, the City of El Paso’s Quality of Life Managing Director. “This award reflects the hard work of City Departments and partners, and we are grateful to the artists and artisans who bring their creativity and talent to The Market each week.” Fyffe added that being chosen by readers makes the honor even sweeter.

If you’re ready to experience the hype for yourself, The Market at WinterFest is gearing up for Small Business Saturday on November 29, from 5–10 p.m. The event takes over Main Street, right between La Nube and the El Paso Museum of Art, featuring local vendors, handmade gifts, treats, and all the festive vibes.
El Paso’s most iconic holiday tradition is officially lighting up the season again and it’s just in time for when families and friends from out of town will be making their way back to El Paso for Thanksgiving festivities.
