Pappalecco, a San Diego–founded Italian-inspired café known for its artisanal coffee, gelato, pastries and paninis, will open its first Texas location in Historic Downtown Plano on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m.

To celebrate the opening, Pappalecco will offer 50% off all menu items, excluding alcoholic beverages, throughout the grand opening weekend.

The menu will feature the brand’s signature offerings, including the Marocchino made with espresso, Nutella and frothy milk; the Caffè Freddo, a cold brew blended with gelato; the Affogato, pairing gelato with a hot shot of espresso; and croissants stuffed with gelato. The café also prepares its gelato fresh on-site.

“We’re honored to bring Pappalecco to Plano,” Chen and Yan said in a joint statement. “Our hope is that it becomes a place where people feel genuinely cared for and can experience the best of Italian café culture.”

Pappalecco’s modern, minimalist design aims to create a warm, inviting environment for families, friends and neighbors to gather and slow down. The Plano opening continues a legacy inspired by the brand’s Italian roots and its two decades of history connected to its founding culture.

The café will be open at 1009 14th St., Unit 600, Sunday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
