EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — An El Paso man has been arrested after kidnapping a 21-year-old woman on Sunday, Nov. 23, according to El Paso Police.

Police say that at around 6 a.m. on Sunday, they were dispatched to the 11600 block of Cayuga on a reported kidnapping.

When officers arrived, they learned that a 21-year-old woman had been taken against her will by Gabriel Julian Chaparro, 21, according to police.

Police say they were able to identify Chaparro and learned that he had assaulted the victim before kidnapping her.

During the investigation, police also learned that Chaparro had released the victim after police began looking for them, and the victim then arrived at the scene and provided additional details about the incident.

Chapparro was arrested and is facing a charge of aggravated kidnapping, causing bodily injury, and assault family violence.

He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $20,000 bond.
