EL PASO, Tx., October 16, 2025: A second nationwide No Kings protests are scheduled for Saturday across the country. Protestors are protesting the deployment of the National Guard in several cities and immigration crackdowns. Protestors are also protesting other actions taken by the Trump Administration.
Saturday’s protest follows the June 14th protest. The coordinators of the nationwide event, The 50501 Movement, are hoping to turn out protestors across 50 states in one day. The protestors use the slogan, “No thrones. No crowns. No kings,” referring to their opposition to what they call is the Trump Administration’s authoritarian governing.
The El Paso location for Saturday’s No Kings event is scheduled at the corner of Airway and Edgemere Boulevard. The event will run from 11am to 2pm. Participants are encouraged to RSVP.
Another event is also scheduled for Saturday in Las Cruces. The Las Cruces event is scheduled to be at the Albert Johnson Park. It is scheduled to start at 9am and run through noon. Those interested in attending the Las Cruces event should also RSVP.
The organizers of the protests are expecting millions of protestors across the nation to turn out. More than 2,500 protests are planned for Saturday across the country.
The non-profit Home of the Brave is spending $1 million to promote Saturday’s event.
Home of the Brave No Kings protests advertisement narrated by George Conway.
The video is narrated by George Conway. Conway was married to Kellyann Conway for 22 years until they divorced in 2023. Kellyann Conway was an advisor to Donald Trump during his first term. George Conway labels the Trump Administration as “authoritarian” and calls Trump’s government “a cancer.”
In addition to the Conway narrated advertisement, Home of the Brave is planning on promoting Saturday’s event in local newspapers and in other national news outlets.
In response to the planned protests, Speaker Mike Johnson in a Fox News interview last Friday called the protest a “hate America rally” that would be composed of protestors from the “antifa” and “pro-Hamas wing” people. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Fox Business News that Saturday’s planned protests “means no paychecks, no paychecks and no government.” He was alluding to the Republicans blaming the shutdown on the Democrats not wanting to end it until after the No Kings protest on Saturday.
Although no exact accounting of the June 14 No Kings protest participants is available, some called it one of the biggest single-day protest in American history.
Saturday’s planned event has the backdrop of the federal government shutdown which has now forced federal employees to go without a paycheck for 16 days. Both the Democrats and the Republicans blame each other for the shutdown. The Democrats are demanding that the Republicans extend healthcare subsidizes to end the stalemate, while the Republicans want to address the pending end of the healthcare subsidizes until after the government reopens.
The turnout for Saturday’s protests will likely send a signal to both parties on how to end the federal shutdown stalemate with larger numbers of protestors likely to embolden the Democrats and smaller numbers giving the Republicans a signal to continue to insist that healthcare be dealt with until after the shutdown ends.
